Kiddie Pools and Natural Selection

It was a cloudy day (the worse was yet to come), so we had this pool pretty much to ourselves. There are, like, 225 pools at this resort, so during the slow season, I'd imagine there's pretty much 1 per guest.

I digress.

That head you see peeping out of 1 foot of water is Laney's. While we were not too concerned about her efforts to drown herself in this particular pool, she soon began to demonstrate the odd behavior of slowly backing deeper and deeper into the water (pool or ocean) with an impish grin on her face, up until the point that she realized that she could no longer touch the bottom, and would thrash around in a panic until one of us saved her. After a half dozen "attempts", I was inclined to just let her be, and let Darwinism take over, but seeing as Mick never demonstrated such behavior, and Laney seems to be ever so slightly deranged, the next one would surely be the basis for "The Omen 2007". Might as well hedge our bets and stick with this one.
