Edible Insulation

This was Laney's first cotton candy. Having consumed many of these sugary delights throughout my childhood, it really never occurred to me how bizarre they must be to the first timer. It occurs to me now that this particular flavor (banana?) bears a striking resemblance to the insulation we have in our attic, and we've probably made every effort to keep the kids from eating that in the past. Hence, Laney's initial reaction of just staring at the thing for the first few minutes, and smacking it off the table to see if we react. Finally, we put a small piece in her mouth.

5 minutes later, the cotton candy was gone, yet a thin film of stickiness seemed to cover Laney, the table, chairs, Mickie and that 10 foot clown.
